Jingzhou Tao, Keynote Speaker

Independent Arbitrator

Jingzhou Tao is an independent arbitrator based in Beijing. He is an avocat à la Cour de Paris. He has more than 40 years of experience advising Fortune 500 companies for the negotiation of hundreds of mergers and acquisitions, joint venture contracts, international construction contracts, production sharing agreements, etc. He has acted as counsel, co-arbitrator, chair and sole arbitrator in more than two hundred international arbitration proceedings before major international arbitration institutions such as ICC, LCIA, SIAC, HKIAC, CIETAC, BAC, etc. He is a member of the advisory boards of CIETAC and HKIAC, the expert committee member of Chinese International Commercial Court of Chinese Supreme Court and the board member of Saudi Center of International Arbitration. He is also a member of the KCAB International Advisory Council. He is a special invited professor of law in Tsinghua University Law School and Adjunct Professor of Georgetown University Law Center. He sits in the Editorial Board of Global Arbitration Review. He has published several books about Chinese arbitration and mergers and acquisition in English and French.

Tan Sri Nallini Pathmanathan, Moderator - 1st Grand Panel

Independent Arbitrator & Mediator

Nallini is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and a certified mediator. She presently sits as a full-time arbitrator and mediator. Nallini was appointed a judge of the Qatar International Court and Dispute Resolution Centre (QICDRC) as of end March 2026. She has yet to be benched. Appointed to the Bench in 2007, Nallini is the first female judge of South Asian ethnicity to be elevated to the superior judiciary in Malaysia. She served in the High Court ,specifically the Kuala Lumpur Commercial Court and the Admiralty Court, before being elevated to the Court of Appeal in 2014 and to then to the Federal Court, Malaysia’s apex court, from 2018 until her retirement on 23 February 2026. She was conferred honorary awards by the King in 2014 and in 2023. Nallini holds a degree in Physiology from the University of London and undertook the conversion course in law, prior to being called to the English Bar in 1984. She then joined Skrine in Kuala Lumpur and practiced at the Bar for 21 years before her appointment to the Bench.

Ronnie King is a senior foreign legal advisor at Ashurst KJV where he has based since Spring 2023. He commenced practice in 1984 in London and was a partner in Ashurst between 1994 and April 2025 specialising in dispute resolution. Ronnie has particular experience in energy sector disputes, major infrastructure projects and white collar crime. He has been based in Asia since 2016 and is a former managing partner of Ashurst’s offices in Singapore and Tokyo. Ronnie has represented S.O.E. companies, international oil majors and independent oil and gas companies in arbitrations and litigations in various jurisdictions and arbitration centres across Europe, the Middle East and Asia. Ronnie has represented clients on disputes at all stages of the M&A cycle. This includes pre-emption, lockouts, earn- out disputes, tax indemnification and various forms of price adjustment. His cases have included arbitrations in which allegations of bribery and embezzlement have been brought. Dr. Fan Yang is a leading Arbitrator, Mediator, and Adjudicator with over 20 years of international experience, specializing in technology, energy, and construction disputes. A Barrister of England and Wales and Founder of both the International Dispute Resolution Academy (IDRA), and the International Dispute Resolution Chambers (IDRC), she has held senior roles at global firms Skadden Arps, Stephenson Harwood, and King and Wood Mallesons, and served as in-house counsel for China Harbour Engineering. Dr. Yang is uniquely positioned as a FIDIC Certified Adjudicator (FIDIC President’s List) and an Approved Faculty Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and NEC APAC Tutor. Somin Katelyn JUN is a partner in Global Dispute Resolution Team. Dr Nagla Nassar

Dr. Nagla Nassar is Senior Partner at NassarLaw which was established in 1885. She graduated from Cairo University and Trinity College where she got her M. Litt and has an LL.M from Harvard University as well as a PhD from Geneva University and the Diploma of The Hague Academy in Private International Law. Before joining NassarLaw in 2004 she practiced in several jurisdictions and is a member of several bars. She was with the ICSID Secretariat and is a member of different arbitration forums including being a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and is a Council Member of the ICC World Business Institute. She has many legal publications analyzing critical legal problems and is abreast of current issues. With many years of experience both as corporate counsel and arbitrator she has acted on behalf of many major multinationals and Egyptian entities. Also, Dr. Nassar is appointed frequently as an arbitrator and has chaired many tribunals.

Laurie-Anne Grelier

Laurie-Anne Grelier assists Korean and global companies, especially Asian multinationals, with navigating the competition law and foreign investment aspects of their activities in Europe. Laurie-Anne cumulates more than 10 years of experience advising these companies on complex, high-stake European competition law issues, including antitrust and cartel investigations, the clearance of transactions, the structuring of licensing, distribution, collaborative and other commercial arrangements, issues related to abuse of dominance, and the structuring of compliance programs. This extends to representing these companies in litigation before the European Courts, whether to challenge regulatory decisions or to defend multi-million private antitrust claims. A growing part of her practice encompasses assisting these companies with the control of their investments under CFIUS-like regimes in Europe and the new EU Foreign Subsidies Regulation. Laurie-Anne also advises Asian companies on the application of new regulations in the technology sector, such as the EU Digital Markets Act.

Scott Warren is a partner in our Tokyo and Shanghai offices, specializing in cybersecurity, data privacy and digital data disclosures in Asia and the Middle East. He also has significant experience in compliance, intellectual property (IP), litigation, dispute resolution, and government regulatory and internal investigations. Scott started his career as a civil litigator in California. He moved to Japan in 1993, where he has lived since. He served seven years as general counsel at Sega Corporation and six years as a senior attorney at Microsoft. He serves on the executive board of The Society for the Policing of Cyberspace, a nonprofit organization. He headed Kroll in Japan and Kroll Ontrack across Asia, and later opened Epiq Systems in Japan, providing IP protection, computer forensics and e-discovery solutions. Scott is a California-licensed lawyer and a licensed foreign lawyer in Japan. He is a Certified International Counter-Cyber Crime Professional and certified as a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb). Since 2004, he has served on the Society for the Policing of Cyberspace, a non-profit organization dedicated to working with its global members towards a more secure Internet. He serves at the American Chamber of Commerce in Japan, where he was awarded Leader of the Year for 2020, as Co-Chair of the Legal Services & Intellectual Property Committee; Vice-Chair of the Secure Digital Infrastructure Committee; Vice-Chair of the Information, Communication and Technology Committee; and Vice Chair of the Digital Forum.

Young Shin Um is a Senior Counsel at the International Arbitration Team. Young Shin worked as a Senior Deputy Director at the International Dispute Settlement Division in the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Korea, where she managed investor-state disputes and represented the Korean government in ICSID Rules Reform Project and in UNCITRAL Working Group III. Prior to joining the government in 2020, Young Shin practiced international arbitration in major Korean law firms. Young Shin holds LL.B. and J.D. from Seoul National University (LL.B., 2007, and J.D., 2012), LL.M. from New York University (LL.M. in International Legal Studies, 2008/LL.M. in International Business Regulation, Litigation and Arbitration, 2019), and is S.J.D. candidate at Seoul National University. Lee has extensive knowledge and experience in Commercial and Contracts Management, dispute resolution and international arbitration. Lee has been appointed as a Sole Arbitrator, has acted as a Quantum Expert and Delay and Disruption Expert in Arbitration and as a Quantum Expert in the local courts. Lee has been cross examined several times in front of leading Arbitrators and by leading QCs. Lee’s experience has been gained in building, oil and gas, civil engineering, aviation, rail and marine projects with values up to AED 3.2 billion in the UK and the Middle East.
