David Bateson, Keynote Speaker

David Bateson is a leading international arbitrator who has been involved as arbitrator in over 150 arbitrations in Asia, Europe, the Middle East and South America. He has acted as chairman, party-appointed arbitrator and sole arbitrator in arbitrations under the rules of the AAA, AIAC, BANI, CIETAC, HKIAC, DIAC, ICC, LCIA, PCA, SIAC and VIAC, or in ad hoc arbitrations. He has extensive experience in disputes in a variety of industry sectors including, construction, resources, commodities, insurance, joint ventures, shareholder agreements, shipping and telecommunications. Chambers Asia described him as “pre-eminent and widely experienced”; “one of the top arbitrators in the region” who is “excellent at pretty much everything he is doing”. The Legal 500: Asia Pacific stated that David is “one of the top arbitrators in the region”. Chambers Asia also described him as “a very good arbitrator” and praises him for “writing a very good award”. It adds that he is “well able to control an arbitration” and “culturally sensitive”. He is listed in Chambers’ list of most in-demand arbitrators for Asia, who describe him as a “very popular and in-demand arbitrator for construction cases”. He has over 40 years of legal experience and is a specialist in all forms of dispute resolution including arbitration, litigation and alternative dispute resolution. Andrew Pullen, Moderator - 1st Grand Panel

Andrew Pullen specialises in international arbitration, appearing as counsel and sitting as arbitrator. Described as ‘enthusiastic and well informed’… with ‘a deep knowledge of arbitral rules’ (Chambers & Partners), Andrew’s experience includes cases determined under a wide variety of governing laws and arbitral rules, in Asia, Europe and the US. With experience across a diversity of business sectors, Andrew’s recent cases range from construction disputes in Australia and Asia, to claims relating to software licensing and the development of pharmaceuticals, to joint venture disputes. He has considerable experience of arbitrations relating to Indonesia: recent examples include a claim against a contractor arising from a fire at a power plant and a dispute arising from a mining venture. Andrew frequently works as co-counsel with lawyers from many jurisdictions and has significant experience of interim measures and jurisdiction issues in arbitration. Andrew is an English-qualified barrister, based in Singapore since 2011. He originally qualified as a solicitor in 2002, and practised as a solicitor-advocate in Allen & Overy’s international arbitration group before joining Fountain Court Chambers. Andrew is ranked in Chambers & Partners and Legal 500. He has served on the council of the Singapore Institute of Arbitrators since 2017 and is the current Vice-President of the Institute.

Leonora Riesenburg is an Independent Chartered Arbitrator and Accredited Mediator at INTADR DMCC, Dubai, and an International Tenant at 4-5 Gray’s Inn Square in London. She is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb), a Fellow of Asian Institute of Alternative Dispute Resolution (AIADR), and stands as a leading figure in international arbitration, mediation and adr in Middle East, Asia, and the UK. Leonora specialises in complex disputes across key sectors, notably in investment, infrastructure, construction, real estate, joint ventures, banking and finance, and receives routine Chairmanship appointments. Her affiliations with prestigious arbitral institutions—among them the ICC, LCIA, SIAC, DIAC, ADCCAC, SCCA, MIAC, AIADR—further solidify her standing as a leading figure in international arbitration. Leonora’s leadership is reflected in her previous roles as Branch Chair of CIArb UAE, as an Elected Member of the Board of Management for CIArb London, and member of DIFC Courts Arbitration Division Working Group. Walter Silvester is the Managing Director of Silvester Legal, an award-winning law firm specialising in commercial disputes and shareholder advisory. With a career honed at leading Singaporean law firms, Walter has developed a reputation for delivering practical and cost-effective strategies in complex shareholder and stakeholder disputes. Olga Boltenko
Boltenko Arbiters
Ms. Boltenko is a barrister, arbitrator, and mediator with over a decade of experience in cross-border dispute resolution and international arbitration. Most recently with Fangda Partners in Hong Kong, Ms. Boltenko has also practised with leading arbitration teams in Paris and Singapore. With a particular focus on public international law, investor-State dispute resolution, and commercial arbitration, Ms Boltenko has acted as legal counsel in investor-State disputes under the auspices of the Permanent Court of Arbitration, the ICSID, the SCC, the ICC, the LCIA, and in various capacities in dozens of commercial disputes in a wide array of industries including oil and gas, mining, infrastructure, construction, telecommunications and pharmaceuticals, across Asia and beyond. Ms. Boltenko teaches a master of laws degree in arbitration and ADR with a focus on Belt & Road investment law at The University of Hong Kong, where she is a deputy executive director. She is also a professor of law at the Royal University of Law and Economics in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, where she teaches a course in investment law at the dual degree program with the Free University of Brussels. Ms. Boltenko has been consistently recognized in legal rankings, including by Who’s Who Legal, where she has been ranked over the years as a National Leader for Hong Kong and a Thought Leader Global Elite - Under 45. Elijah Putilin

Prof. Elijah Putilin, FCIArb is an independent arbitrator and counsel. Clients and peers describe him as being “highly able, keen and very efficient”, “a world class practitioner” and praise him for his ability “to present even the most complex concepts in a simple and understandable manner”. Prof. Putilin regularly sits as a Sole-Arbitrator, Presiding Arbitrator, or co-arbitrator in cases administered by leading institutions that involve application of civil, common, or international law. Edmund Kronenburg

With over 25 years’ experience in dispute resolution, litigation, and arbitration, Edmund regularly appears as lead counsel in cases before the Singapore High Court and Court of Appeal, as well as in international arbitrations. His diverse practice includes commercial and corporate disputes, energy and natural resources, media and telecommunications, breach of confidence, defamation, employment, medical and healthcare disputes as well as pre-emptive relief and injunctions including Worldwide Freezing / Mareva Injunctions. Edmund also actively sits as an arbitrator, and has conducted arbitrations seated in Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam and Brunei, as sole arbitrator, tribunal chairman / presiding arbitrator and tribunal member. He is a fellow of CIArb, SIArb, MIArb, AMINZ, HKIArb, PIArb and ACICA.
