Nandakumar (Kumar) Ponniya heads the Dispute Resolution Practice Group in Singapore and the region, and also chairs the Asia Pacific International Arbitration Practice. He is widely acclaimed in international arbitration and cross-border litigation, with particular expertise in the areas of construction, technology and energy. His practice includes dealing with disputes arising from corporate and commercial matters, and managing multi-jurisdictional restructuring and insolvency. With over 20 years' experience, Kumar has handled disputes and matters across various industry sectors and jurisdictions, serving clients in Asia and beyond. He is qualified to practice in Singapore, England & Wales and New York; and is also a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.

Ohoon Kwon, Moderator, 2nd Grand Panel

Ohoon Kwon is a Partner at Cha & Kwon. He concentrates his practice in the area of corporate law, with focus on finance, information technologies and international law. Most recently, he has advised several blockchain companies on their cryptocurrency related projects. His work includes ICO (initial coin offering), off-shore incorporation, licensing, legal opinion drafting for whitepapers, STO(security token offering) and Non-fungible Tokens (NFT). He also has experience in foreign exchange regulations in Korea especially on cross-border cryptocurrency and fiat exchange, along with other AML regulations. His work extends to highly regulatory fields including MLM (multilevel marketing) regulations and anti-bribery laws in Korea. He has successfully implemented major compliance initiatives within large corporations. Native in English, Ohoon has previously worked as an inhouse counsel in MNCs including Amway Korea, Bausch & Lomb Korea and Blizzard Entertainment Korea. He has organized several regulation reform projects involving government and legislative staffs and represented the private sector. Admitted to practice law in the Republic of Korea, He is a member of the Korean Bar Association. Julian Cohen

Julian has 30 years of specialist experience of heavyweight international, and domestic, disputes. Sums in dispute in his cases vary from small to in excess of USD 2 billion. In addition to acting as counsel, he also regularly sits as an arbitrator. Julian has over 10 years’ experience in the MENA region, including 2 years based full time in Dubai, and an ongoing long-term commitment to the region. Julian has been involved in projects and disputes in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Qatar, Oman, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Benin, Sierra Leone and Mali. Julian was called to the Bar in England & Wales in 1990. He was with Pinsent Masons’ Construction Disputes practice in London and Hong Kong from 1993 to 2009. He left Pinsent Masons as a partner in 2009, and was called to the Bar in Hong Kong in 2010. Julian is particularly well known for his heavy weight practice in relation to the Construction and Engineering sectors; the Energy, Oil and Gas sectors; and International and domestic arbitrations.

Christopher Nunns

Christopher is a managing director in Kroll’s Expert Services practice, based in Singapore. He is a highly respected quantum and delay expert with 40 years of experience in the construction industry, working with both contractors and consultants. Christopher’s experience has been gained while working in a wide range of sectors including commercial, residential, mining, utilities, oil and gas, and infrastructure. He was based in Singapore for 30 years, primarily involved in dispute resolution, arbitration, contract administration and claims management. He has given expert evidence for arbitration and court proceedings on numerous occasions and is a regular speaker at seminars and conferences. He holds a master’s degree from Oxford University. He is a past chairman of the Society of Construction Law in Singapore, was a member of the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) Editorial Advisory Panel and was also accredited as an adjudicator.

Jennifer Wu is a Senior Commercial and Tech Disputes lawyer at Pinsent Masons. She manages and leads the Hong Kong TMT and Data Team. She has a particular focus on cross border cyber, tech and data related issues, protecting systems, software and information held online for businesses. She has acted as the lead advisor for many trusted international and local clients and has been commended for her strategic advice in Court litigation and International Arbitration. Outside of her work, Jennifer champions equality and is part of 2 diversity and inclusion groups in Hong Kong, Women in Law Hong Kong and CIArb East Asia Branch. Yuankai Lin

Specialising in complex and high-stakes cross-border litigation and arbitration, Yuankai Lin acts for clients in sectors such as Technology, Communications and Media; Retail; Entertainment & Sport; Consumer Life Sciences & Healthcare and Aviation. An experienced dispute resolution lawyer, Yuankai frequently does his own advocacy in both litigation and arbitration matters. Alice Chen is the Co-founder and General Counsel of InvestaX. InvestaX leverages the best of TradFi (traditional finance) and DeFi (decentralized finance) concepts to bring technology-driven investment products and innovation. Alice spent more than 10 years in private practice with prominent international law firms across multiple jurisdictions (US, China and Japan) prior to her entrepreneurial journey. Alice is actively engaged in the Fintech and blockchain communities in Singapore and beyond, regularly speaking, presenting and mentoring in the areas of Fintech, blockchain and entrepreneurship. Ji En recently left practice to build Chambers Lab, a legal innovation startup focused on helping lawyers practice better. He believes that, with intelligent use of technology and global human resources, the practice of law can be effective and enjoyable at the same time. Prior to this, Ji En was an associate at a global law firm in Singapore. He has extensive experience in dispute resolution (both civil and criminal matters) and competition law. Ji En has been actively involved in the legal tech and legal innovation space for the past 7 years. He was the founding Deputy Chairperson of the Asia-Pacific Legal Innovation and Technology Association (ALITA) and the Chapter Organiser of Legal Hackers Singapore. He was part of a Working Group formed by the Singapore Computer Society and the Singapore Academy of Law to help the Singapore government develop strategies for the legal workforce in view of tech disruption in the industry. He is a regular speaker on issues relating to technology and innovation in law, and has been invited to speak at conferences in many countries, ranging from Korea to Italy to Singapore. Ji En read law at the National University of Singapore on the ASEAN Undergraduate Scholarship and graduated in 2017. He is Malaysian, and he speaks English, Mandarin, Malay, Cantonese and Hokkien.

Scott Warren

Scott Warren is a licensed US attorney who began his legal career litigating and arbitrating civil cases in California before moving to Japan in 1993. He wrote the Japan Employers Handbook for CCH before spending 13 years as in-house counsel as the first foreign general counsel for Sega Enterprises, and then as senior corporate attorney for Microsoft, getting Xbox launched in Asia. In those capacities, he also handled a breadth of matters including overseeing several competition matters, other litigation disputes, IP licensing, transactional agreements, anticounterfeiting and anti-cybercrime efforts, employment matters and internal investigations. He was the Asia Regional Managing Director for Legal Technologies for a large risk consultancy and now oversees Epiq Systems, a world leader in legal technologies, providing eDiscovery and document review services in North Asia, working with corporations, and the law firms that support them, on issues where the Law and Technology collide. Many of those have involved competition matters in various industries and countries in Asia. As such, he has been working in and around digital evidence in Asia for the last 20 years.
